Comptroller

At Voltrac we are on a mission to strengthen Europes food security and defence with an autonomous electric tractor to free farmers from drudgery and keep soldiers out of harms way. The 3.5 tonnes platform is currently being tested at vineyards olive orchards and citrus groves across Spain - check out our website to see it in action. We are about to scale manufacturing to 100 units yearly and will need to match our financial tracking accordingly.

Who we are

Voltrac was founded by Francisco Infante Aguirre and Thomas Hubregtsen in 2024. Francisco used to build hydrogen-powered supersonic planes at Destinus and heavy-lifting eVTOLs at Volocopter but comes from a family that builds and sells tractor implements in over 25 countries. Thomas used to accelerate Machine Learning using GPUs TPUs and Quantum Computers at Google X IBM and BMW as well as started San Francisco-based Extropic introducing Thermodynamic computers but also had his first job at a farm.

Together they set their sights on shaking up the market competing directly with incumbents and startups their journey they are supported by investors such as Extantia Foodlabs Antler Push and Prototype who together committed a total of 9M in funding. With this they were able to open up shop in a 1200 m² facility in Valencia with 300 m² of naturallight office and a 900 m² workshop. Valencia is consistently voted as one of Europes top places to live based on its low cost of living excellent climate and vibrant historic centre. The team is young comes from different backgrounds and loves to have team bbqs but share one aim: shape Europes agriculture and defence with machines that do real work.

Tasks

As Comptroller you will build the finance and operational control system that enables confident decisions: cash forecasting clean reporting cost visibility and compliance all without slowing the team down. You will work directly with the founders to ensure all economical aspects are kept under control and educated decisions are made. More specifically:

• You will own core accounting operations like monthly close P&L balance sheet cash flow and management reporting.
• You will build and maintain a rolling cash forecast and runway model.
• You will create annual budgets and track spend vs plan.
• You will perform supplier payments payroll inputs and expense management (in collaboration with external providers as needed).
• You will manage Spain compliance: VAT taxes statutory filings and liaison with a gestor/auditor.
• You will prepare investor reporting and board-ready financial packs (metrics burn runway key drivers).
• You will have freedom to select and implement finance tooling/ERP appropriate for a hardware startup.
• Your work will support funding processes and due diligence with clean data rooms and consistent documentation.
• You will work to maximize R&D credits and similar programs.

Requirements

• 5 years experience in finance/controller roles (startup manufacturing industrial automotive or similar).
• Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting and tax fundamentals (VAT statutory filings) and ability to manage external advisors.
• Hands-on capability: you can build models reconcile accounts and ship reports without a large team.
• Strong Excel/Sheets skills; comfort building cash forecasts and driver-based models
• High integrity and attention to detail balanced with startup pragmatism and speed.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Experience in venture-backed hardware companies and investor/board reporting.
• Experience implementing an ERP or accounting system from scratch.
• Experience with grants/subsidies and public funding administration.
• High travel tolerance and comfortable working with little structure
