Key Responsibilities
- System Control Architecture & Logic
- Design and own system-level control architecture covering actuator control power sequencing and operational state management
- Develop supervisory control logic state machines and mode management strategies
- Define and implement safe power-up/down sequences fault handling and degraded operating modes aligned with aerospace requirements
Embedded Software Development
- Develop and maintain embedded software in C/C on real-time microcontroller platforms (e.g. TI C2000 NXP or equivalent safety MCUs)
- Architect scalable maintainable software frameworks for control execution communication diagnostics and monitoring
- Work across BSP middleware and application layers to ensure deterministic performance and system robustness
System Interfaces & Communication
- Define implement and document interfaces between controllers subsystems and external systems
- Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Implement communication protocols such as CAN (including safety profiles) ARINC 825 SPI and Ethernet
- Ensure reliable data exchange arbitration and fault handling across interfaces
Model-Based Design & Validation
- Use MATLAB/Simulink for development and validation of system-level control logic and coordination strategies
- Support model-based workflows including MIL SIL and HIL
- Validate system behavior across nominal edge-case and fault scenarios using simulation and lab data
Integration Testing & Bring-Up
- Lead system integration across motor control BMS sensors and vehicle control software
- Support hardware bring-up HIL testing and lab validation
- Diagnose cross-domain issues (software hardware system interactions)
- Develop test strategies automation frameworks and data analysis workflows for repeatable verification
Safety Process & Lifecycle Support
- Follow disciplined development processes for safety-critical embedded systems
- Contribute to requirements definition traceability and verification planning
- Support certification readiness aligned with standards such as DO-178C and ARP4754/4761
- Maintain configuration control and long-term software maintainability
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in embedded control software for real-time systems
- Strong proficiency in embedded C/C and real-time software design
- Experience with system-level control logic state machines and sequencing
- Hands-on experience with communication protocols (CAN SPI Ethernet ARINC etc.)
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and SIL/HIL environments
- Proven ability to integrate and debug across hardware firmware and system layers
- Strong analytical and system-level problem-solving skills
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with TI C2000 NXP or similar real-time microcontrollers
- Background in safety-critical domains (aerospace automotive industrial)
- Familiarity with standards such as DO-178C ARP4754/4761 or ISO 26262
- Experience defining software architectures and development processes
- Exposure to motor control BMS or vehicle control systems
- Experience supporting production launch field issues and system validation
