This role sits within the Customer UX team and focuses on driving design strategy and execution across the digital travel experience. The Lead Designer will guide complex multi-platform initiatives elevate design quality and contribute to the evolution of design systems.
The position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on design expertise along with the ability to lead teams collaborate across functions and align user experience with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead design strategy for large-scale multi-platform initiatives aligned with business and user needs
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level designers ensuring consistent design quality and growth
Collaborate with product engineering and business stakeholders to drive user-centered decisions
Lead the design of complex omnichannel user journeys across platforms and devices
Establish and enforce design standards interaction patterns and governance practices
Oversee creation of high-fidelity prototypes and support validation through user research
Partner with internal teams to evolve and scale the design system
Manage multiple design initiatives while maintaining high attention to detail and consistency
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in HCI Information Design Communications Computer Systems Visual Design or related field
6 10 years of UI/UX design experience
3 years in a senior or lead design role
Core Experience:
Proven experience leading design teams and mentoring designers
Strong portfolio demonstrating complex design work leadership and business impact
Experience presenting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
Expertise in modern UI/UX tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
Experience working across web mobile and emerging platforms
Strong background in cross-functional collaboration with product engineering and research teams
Experience in design strategy roadmap planning and resource allocation
Technical & Soft Skills
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in UI/UX design and prototyping tools
Strong understanding of interaction design visual systems and design principles
Experience with design systems and scalable design frameworks
Familiarity with user research usability testing and validation methods
Working knowledge of front-end technologies across web iOS and Android (preferred)
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment
Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Conflict resolution and consensus-building skills
