Provides technical skills involving radiology and fluoroscopy; produces and processes images of various parts of the human anatomy to assist the radiologist in diagnosis of disease and or injury; sets proper exposure factors and properly positions patients to achieve diagnostic quality utilizing A.L.A.R.A. guidelines. Operates a diversified combination of technical equipment and software. Prepares and administers contrast materials to patients. Assists with special procedures and examinations. May specialize in image production of specific anatomy such as the chest gastro-intestinal tract orthopedic ect. It is essential each technologist be cross trained in additional modalities per department policy #1080 Cross-Training Criteria Certified in and registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent. May or may not be state licensed radiography.
