Locum Tenens Opportunity Emergency Medicine Physician

Assignment Overview:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens assignment in coastal North Carolina. This is a great opportunity to work in a community-focused Level IV Trauma Center with a collaborative care environment.

Start Date: June/July 2026
Assignment Length: 6 months to start (with potential for extension)
Location: Southport NC

Schedule:

6 8 shifts per month
12-hour shifts
Days or nights available (provider preference please specify availability)

Facility Details:

Level IV Trauma Center
9 ED patient rooms 5 vertical care chairs
Patient Care Unit for acute and chronic conditions (no traditional ICU)
EMR: E-Clinical Works
Patient Volume: 1 2 patients per hour

Scope of Practice / Procedures:

Trauma Services
Respiratory Care
Cardiac Care
Specialized Forensic Care
Standard Emergency Department procedures

Requirements:

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
Active North Carolina License
DEA
ACLS BLS PALS ATLS certifications

Compensation & Logistics:

Pay Rate: $300 $325/hour
Mileage reimbursement provided
Lodging: requires approval; all-inclusive options may be considered based on provider needs

Additional Notes:

Potential for additional coverage beyond initial assignment
Ideal candidate is flexible and comfortable in a lower-volume community ED setting
