Role description:

You will join our Structural Engineering team in the Arcadis Iasi office part of the Mobility GBA where our projects and development opportunities can fit various ambitions from structural engineering 3D modeling and parametric design to Operate & Maintain digital methods. The delivery is secured through global collaboration platforms like ACC which allows engineers across various offices to work together seamlessly while maintaining clear visibility for our clients.

Role accountabilities:

• Performing calculations analysis and providing recommendations and conclusions;
• Collaborate with the team in brainstorming sessions to collectively on engineering challenges.
• Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which you have responsibility including drawings reports specifications and studies;
• Liaising with the Line Manager to keep informed of all developments associated with the project;
• Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the Arcadis business areas to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry;
• Use technical knowledge and experience to apply technical and practical engineering production skills for Structures in typically medium complexity commissions
• Familiar with tools and calculation using Excel or other similar template calculation spreadsheets
• Contribute to the production of project Engineering deliverables reports sketches that are accurate clear concise and compliant with Arcadis standards best practice and any other standards dictated by the nature of the project
• Operate as a competent technician within a single area of work with little supervision
• Commit to receiving on the job technical training by performing tasks which are under the direct supervision of more experienced staff within well defined limits
• Attend knowledge network to support Arcadis knowledge sharing
• Undertake own production checking of work in progress to ensure that it meets design intent
• Proficient in relevant desktop applications
• Have effective time management skills
• Can perform work in accordance with agreed budget and schedule with limited supervision
  Motivated to achieve goals while promoting a culture of quality innovation and client focus

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant Structural engineering degree
• Demonstrate an analytical mindset and a proactive attitude toward self-directed learning and professional development
• Have a track record in designing specialized structural elements such as bridge decks abutments piles or retaining walls
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete reinforced and prestressed steel and/or composite structural calculations and/or competent in plans detailing/bill of quantities
• Good structural mechanics knowledge
• Experienced and competent in finite element analysis and application
• Ability and interest in learning and developing new technologies and automation processes
• Analytical mindset and self-learning attitude
• Display exceptional command of technical English terminology and communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Possess knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles contributing to a holistic understanding of project requirements
• Piled foundations design and special foundation experience
• Hydrotechnical Structural design experience may be considered an advantage
• Demonstrate a knack for scripting and automation tools streamlining and optimizing engineering workflows
• Proficient in Structures Engineering softwares such as SCIA Engineering ROBOT MIDAS Idea Statica
• Competent in the use of routine engineering software and/or spreadsheets for foundation retaining structures special structures
• Multilingual proficiency in languages like French and German
