Mechanical Designer (Building Systems) Burlington ON
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established MEP consulting engineering firm to support the hire of a Mechanical Designer for their Burlington office. Join a tight-knit collaborative team delivering a diverse range of building projects across the residential institutional and commercial sectors.
This opportunity is ideal for a Mechanical Designer or EIT who enjoys a mix of design coordination and client interaction and is looking to grow within a stable hands-on consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare mechanical system designs and drawings (HVAC plumbing and related systems) using AutoCAD
Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination
Support construction through site visits and field reviews
Assist with project documentation and drawing revisions across design and construction phases
Communicate directly with clients consultants and internal team members
Ensure designs align with project requirements codes and standards
Qualifications
4 years of experience in mechanical design within consulting engineering (buildings/M.E.P.)
EIT or Mechanical Designer level ()
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (core requirement)
Working knowledge of Revit is considered an asset
Experience across building types such as residential institutional or commercial
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients
Must have consulting engineering experience (no industrial/manufacturing background)
Ability to work both independently and within a small team environment
Project Exposure
High-rise and low-rise multi-residential developments
Long-term care facilities
Hotels and restaurant chains
Secondary schools elementary schools and universities
Office buildings
Compensation Transparency
The expected compensation for this role is approximately $75000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
