Lead Veterinarian Portland OR
A veterinary hospital is seeking a Lead Veterinarian / Medical Director (DVM) to join and guide its growing team. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about high-quality medicine mentorship and building a positive collaborative role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities allowing you to shape medical standards support team development and contribute to the overall success of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical care including diagnostics treatment and surgery
- Lead and mentor veterinarians and support staff
- Establish and uphold medical protocols standards and best practices
- Partner with hospital leadership on operational and strategic initiatives
- Foster a positive team-oriented culture that encourages collaboration and learning
- Support client communication and ensure exceptional patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulations
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Active veterinary license in good standing (or eligibility)
- Several years of clinical experience (leadership experience preferred)
- Strong clinical surgical and diagnostic skills
- Proven leadership mentoring and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high-quality compassionate care
