Scope of Work (SOW) District Coordinator Healthier Smiles Program
Location: North Luwu South Sulawesi

Background

The Healthier Smiles Program is an initiative of Save the Children Indonesia fully supported by the MARS Wrigley Foundation. The program aims to ensure that elementary-school aged children can learn in a safe and healthy environment.

The program is implemented through a strategic partnership with Yayasan Celosia Marennu Indonesia which serves as the implementing partner together with Save the Children. Through the continuation of the Healthier Smiles program the initiative contributes to improving childrens well-being through health interventions while also ensuring childrens participation in the implementation of school-based oral and dental health programs.

The programs focus and approach include the following outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Improved health hygiene and safety school environments for Children.
  • Outcome 2: Increased knowledge and capacity in health hygiene and nutrition among school-aged children caregivers educators and relevant stakeholders.
  • Outcome 3: Enhanced capacity related to community support for school health and nutrition.
  • Outcome 4: Improved access to health hygiene and nutrition services for school aged children.

Objectives of the Assignment

The District Coordinator will:
Strengthen district-level coordination and ownership
Facilitate integration with district systems and policies
Strengthen community and cross-sector support for School Health Nutrition

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities

Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with district government offices including but not limited to District Health Office District Education Office and other relevant agencies to
    support program planning and implementation.
  • Facilitate regular coordination meetings with district stakeholders to ensure alignment information sharing and problem solving related to program
    activities.
  • Support advocacy and engagement efforts to strengthen district-level commitment to child hygiene nutrition and oral health.

Project Implementation

  • Provide day-to-day coordination support to schools health workers facilitators and implementing partners involved in program activities.
  • Support collaboration between schools and local health service providers to improve access to oral health hygiene and nutrition services for children.

Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting

  • Support learning and reflection meetings at the district level to promote adaptive management and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that feedback from children schools and communities is captured and shared appropriately.

Administration & Logistics

  • Support planning and coordination of logistics for meetings trainings workshops and school-based activities.
  • Assist with documentation filling and record-keeping related to coordination activities approvals and meeting outcomes.
  • Support scheduling and coordination of visits by district officials partners and program staff.
  • Ensure timely communication and information flow between district stakeholders schools and program teams.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as required to support effective program delivery.

Deliverables
1. Monthly Progress Reports detailing activities conducted stakeholder engagement challenges and recommendations.
2. Documentation Package including meeting minutes photos attendance lists and activity reports.
3. Updated Stakeholder Engagement Log tracking meetings and follow-up actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelors degree in education Social Sciences Community Development or related field.
  • At least 3 years experience in project coordination preferably in education or child rights programs.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement with government and communities.
  • Strong facilitation communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in remote settings.
  • Familiarity with North Luwu or Southeast Sulawesi context is an advantage.
  • Must own a personal laptop and a motorcycle (two-wheeled vehicle) to support field mobility.

Reporting & Supervision

  • Direct supervision by the Program Manager.
  • Coordination with the School Health and Nutrition Specialist Specialist and Partner.
