The Service & Team:

TheRoughSleeperServiceworkstopreventpeoplefromsleepingroughandtohelp them sustain their accommodation. Where someone does end up sleeping rough the service intervenes to try and ensure that this episode is rare brief and non- recurring.

thewiderRoughSleepingServicethepost holder will work with people as they

move on from rough sleeping into accommodation with support through to independence. They will support the individual in their recovery to move from the

street into accommodation access support to address personal needs find employment undertake training develop budgeting skills cultivate positive social circles and be better equipped to maintain their accommodation and independence

and avoid returning to the street. Support needs will range from low to very complex and including but not limited to drug and alcohol addiction offending history poor mental health financial difficulty and physical health problems. Support will be

offered on site-based accommodation and in homes dispersed within the community.

Thepost-holderwillworkinawaythatiscreativeandinnovativeagileandflexible and solution-focused tailoring their approach to the needs of the person. They will employ a trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach building on the individuals strengths and will seek to reduce harm.

This is a public/customer-facing role where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern:

37 hours per week flexi working Monday-Friday 9-5pm

What youll need to succeed:

  • Supportclientsbygivingchoicesandinformationprovidinganenablingservice so that they can access appropriate services minimise harm and overcome barriers to engagement
    • Supportthecompletion and reviewofriskassessmentsandsupportneedsassessmentswith clients assisting in the delivery of actions identified within Support Plans
    • Identifythecomplexneedsofoftenhighlyvulnerableandhigh-riskclientswhich will include substance misuse and abuse mental health issues offending and violentbehaviour anti-socialbehaviourandindividuals involvedinthe sextrade and supporting the referral process to relevant services
    • Encourageandassistclientstoestablishpositivesocialnetworksandundertake meaningful activities to assist and promote social inclusion
    • Supportclientstoengagewiththeirrecoverydeveloplifeandsocialskillsclaim benefits and access appropriate accommodation avoiding a return to rough sleeping
    • Buildeffectiverelationshipswithawiderangeofaccommodationprovidersto ensure clients are able to move into accommodation that is suitable and appropriate to their needs
    • Provideamulti-agencyresponseandcommunicateinformationbetweenall relevant agencies to prevent and reduce street homelessness and increase sustainment of accommodation
    • To work with individuals to build community ties through the engagement opportunitiesofworkandvolunteeringwithaviewtomovingthemtowards becoming economically active and empowered
    • Manageallocationofpersonalbudgets as appropriate
    • Toproducehighqualitycaseworkmanagementformsandmaintainaccurate records
    • Toassistindevelopingbestpracticeinprovidinghomelessnessservicesand solutions to homelessness
    • ToparticipateinthedeliveryoflocalRoughSleeperCountsincludingtheannual rough sleeper count which takes place at night
    • To ensure the appropriate management of client related risk through the production of comprehensive and high-quality risk assessment and risk managementplansandtotakeresponsibilityforthesafeworkingofselfand others and to ensure local procedures around Lone Working are followed
    • Tomeetindividualandteamperformancetargetsincludingmaintaininghigh standards of record keeping
    • To foster and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholderstoensurethedeliveryofkeyoutputsandperformanceindicators.
