Pay Rate: $27.30

Location: Houston TX 77002

Schedule: Monday Friday 8am to 5pm

Job Duties:

The Inspector position is responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications for a variety of municipal infrastructure projects and conducting field inspections of civil construction sites to ensure compliance with approved plans technical specifications and contract documents. The role also verifies that materials used meet project specifications and confirms that contractors have properly notified residents of construction activities within affected areas. Prepares and serves correction notices and may serve violation citations. Performs record keeping activities to maintain filing systems reports and documentation. Researches and evaluates plans specifications and drawings. Must be proficient in Microsoft word excel teams outlook and
Adobe. Have superb customer service experience via phone / in-person / Email. Great writing and critical thinking skills for documents Analysis. Able to review surveys floor plans site plans google earth Gis / mapping systems and a problem solver. Prepares and submits various technical reports.

Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma/GED and up to 18 months of education or training in the area of inspection to be performed. May require a valid Texas drivers license and compliance with the City of Houstons policy on driving .EXPERIENCE: Two years of journey level experience related to the area of inspection to be performed are required .Certificate/License: Code Enforcement: The following certificates/licenses are preferred to be obtained within 11 months of employment in the area of inspection to be performed: Plumbing - licensed by the State Board of Plumbing Examiners; and ICBO or IAPMO Plumbing Inspector Certificate. Electrical - ICBO or IAEA Inspectors Certificate. Mechanical - ICBO Mechanical Inspectors Certificate. Structural - ICBO Building Inspectors Certificate. Occupancy - ICBO Certificate in the primary area of inspection to be performed. Elevator - QEI Elevator Inspectors Certificate. Must have a valid Texas drivers license and must comply with the COH Policy AP2-2 on driving .
