POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Digital Content Intern
JOB CATEGORY: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
STATUS: Part-Time 20 hours per week
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary for 8 months
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Managing Director of Marking and Communications
REGION/UNIT: US/CENTRAL OFFICE
LOCATION: Philadelphia PA USA Hybrid in Philadelphia or remote work considered.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Digital Content Intern will assist the Communications Department in planning creating and posting digital content to AFSCs many platforms including social media web pages emails donation pages and sign-up forms.
Over the course of the internship the intern will learn how to plan and implement digital media strategies that connect with larger multi-platform marketing plans. They will gain experience in a multidisciplinary team content planning and digital fundraising.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Implement email strategies: Build emails using EveryAction a constituent relationship management system (CRM) that we use to create content and track engagement. Help maintain the fundraising sections of the editorial calendar in Basecamp. Proofread emails created by others and ensure they follow AFSC brand guidelines. Assist with building email lists of constituents to target a variety of audiences.
- Build donation and action forms: Create donation pages. Review donation pages created by AFSCs consultants. Create action event and other types of forms as assigned. Help ensure that old donation forms are deactivated and redirected.
- Help maintain list sign-ups: Download new Facebook lists every other week. Prepare spreadsheet data for importing and share with the CRM manager.
- Post content on : Review key content on and ensure it is optimized for social media sharing. Assist in updating and posting content as needed.
- Assist with constituent relationship management: Assist in CRM maintenance creating reports and producing emails and advocacy alerts.
- Assist with photo collections and editing: Upload photo sets into our Photobase. Look for photo options for specific outreach and assist with photo editing.
- Help with editing and proofreading: Support communications that can appear in a range of platforms.
- Assist with reporting and analytics: Support reporting and data analytics to help track the effectiveness of communications.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Operates safely in all conditions and follows policies and procedures.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY / MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or related field required. Current enrollment in a college degree program preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in canva photoshop or adobe creative suite experience in Microsoft Office including excel and CRMs preferred.
- Excellent writing editing and proofreading skills. Familiarity with best practices for writing for the web desirable.

- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
- Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff.

COMPENSATION
The AFSC offers a competitive Total Rewards package. This position is Non-Exempt Salary Family: Intern Job Code Intern Starting hourly rate $20. There are no medical dental or life insurance benefits short-term or long-term insurance benefits with this position. AFSC does participate in unemployment workers compensation and social security.
