Job Summary
The Pet Therapy Volunteer provides comfort companionship and emotional support to hospice patients through supervised visits with a certified therapy animal. This role plays an important part in enhancing quality of life for patients and offering moments of joy relaxation and connection during end-of-life care.
Qualifications
- Registered/certified therapy animal through a recognized therapy pet organization
What Youll Do
- Visit hospice patients with a certified therapy pet in accordance with scheduled visits
- Provide a calming and supportive presence for patients families and caregivers
- Monitor the pets behavior to ensure a safe and positive interaction at all times
