Structural Engineer (3+ years)

Structural Engineer Coffman Engineers Inc. Honolulu HI. (Multiple openings) Under the supervision of a licensed Engineer perform structural analysis design and detailing for a variety of commercial institutional and industrial projects.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with designers drafters modelers and other in-house engineers to execute structural designs.
• Utilize materials including steel masonry wood and concrete.
• Leverage structural analysis software such as AutoCAD RISA Enercalc.
• Use approved codes and standards to define structural demands on buildings due to gravity wind and seismic loadings.
• Perform structural analysis and design of structural members such as slabs beams columns walls joists and foundations accurately and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Develop accurate structural models that mathematically define and idealize the actual structure being designed.
• Successfully review and backcheck your own work as well as others.
• Guide work with designers and assume responsibility for the quality of the drawings.
• Assists with the editing of project specifications and technical narratives.
• Assist in site visits site meetings and construction administration duties.
• Perform duties within the constraints of the project schedule and budget.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

Education: A bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign degree equivalent) in civil or structural engineering or a closely related field.

Experience: Three years of experience in a structural engineering-related occupation.

SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience must include the following:

1. Three years of experience with Revit RISA Enercalc and Bluebeam.
2. Three years of experience specializing in structural design and analysis on civic/government industrial residential and commercial projects in the Architecture or Engineering field.
3. Three years of experience in design of various types of steel masonry wood and concrete structures.
4. Three years of experience in design of foundations renovations and expansion of existing facilities.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

Basic pay is ninety thousand dollars to one hundred three thousand dollars annually for full-time employment and standard company benefits. Coffman Engineers Employee Referral Program applies to this position.
