Position Overview and Schedule
We are seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team with onboarding and initial placement in Ophthalmology until the Oncology service launches in September 2026. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care technical excellence collaboration and professionalism in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment.
This position requires flexibility with scheduling and the ability to work additional hours when necessary to support patient care and hospital needs.

Essential Qualities:
Patient enthusiastic and reliable
Demonstrate empathy for patients and their families
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to multitask efficiently
Thrives in a team atmosphere
Essential Responsibilities
Knowledge of pharmaceuticals medical conditions and procedures commonly utilized diagnosed or performed within the veterinary industry
Intensive treatment and patient care per DVM instructions
Patient care (phlebotomy IVC placement medication administration nursing tasks)
Induce maintain monitor and recover patients from general anesthesia
Monitor general anesthesia for varying risk classifications
All technical skills should be at the highest level of competency
Ability to process and run in-house labs and help prepare specimens for outside reference labs
Able to perform moderately physically demanding work that requires lifting (up to 50lbs)
Required Qualifications
CVT license active in Oregon or eligible for transfer
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician
Minimum 1 year of ER / ICU or Specialty experience
Ability to work with or around sick animals potentially hazardous materials cleaningchemicals gas anesthetics zoonotic diseases and unpleasant odors
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Smartflow/Ezyvet
Strong analytical critical thinking judgement and problem-solving skills
Work independently with minimal supervision
Familiarity with oncology and or ophthalmology practices a bonus!
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly rate: Starts at $32 an hour DOE hospital wide $5 shift differential for overnight hours
