An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Occupation Health Team as an onsite experienced and qualified Physiotherapist. To provide specialist face to face physiotherapy services within the Occupational Health Team at West Midlands Fire Service supporting the health fitness and operational readiness of firefighters and staff. They will provide a reactive and proactive musculoskeletal strategy and embed this in the service. The post holder will play a key role in injury prevention rehabilitation and performance optimisation health promotion in a physically demanding safety-critical environment. They will also be required to assist with fitness testing and fitness provision.
Responsibilities
* Physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinical practice
* occupational advisory role on fitness for role and return to work
* injury prevention and fitness performance
* Design and deliver injury prevention conditioning and resilience programmes tailored to firefighting roles
* Carry out fitness assessments for firefighters
* DSE ergonomic assessments
* Manual handling guidance for handling firefighting work equipment
* MSK education and to all staff with specific training for restricted duty firefighters
* supervision of sports therapist and associated budgets.
Experience & Skills
At least 7years post qualification experience and further MSK rehabilitation fitness training following BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy
HCPC registration as a physiotherapist
strong communication skills
occupational health qualification
Desirable Skills or Experience
Functional role fitness assessments
Working as a physiotherapist in the emergency services.
