Location: Falmouth MA 02540
Duration: 13 Weeks (Travel/Contract)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 hours/week
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a float pool environment. This role involves coordinating comprehensive nursing care supporting interdisciplinary teams and ensuring safe evidence-based practice across multiple units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver total patient care using the nursing process
- Administer medications safely and accurately
- Perform IV therapy and independent phlebotomy
- Monitor and manage telemetry patients
- Care for post-operative orthopedic and medically complex patients
- Manage chest tubes epidural analgesia and pain control
- Respond effectively to emergency and urgent clinical situations
- Provide patient and family education
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Identify and report signs of abuse or neglect as required by law
- Support end-of-life and palliative care needs
- Adhere to all clinical policies procedures and best practice standards
- Float between assigned inpatient units as operationally needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of Medical/Surgical IV Medication competency
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia competency exam
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN experience
- Proficiency in IV therapy and phlebotomy (required)
- Travel nursing experience preferred
