Job Summary
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide phone screenings intake evaluations and individual and group counseling. Provide training and clinical supervision for masters interns or doctoral practicum counselors. Provide training and consultation to the campus community including students faculty staff and parents. Provide crisis intervention and if needed serve in an emergency on-call capacity. Participate in assessment and evaluation activities to adapt services to meet the needs of the student body and campus community using a population health model. Participate in developing and maintaining effective relationships with other campus constituencies serve on university committees and regularly attend campus events. Participate actively in national associations relevant to mental health in higher education complete continuing education and attend a national conference relevant to work in higher education. Perform other functions or duties as assigned by the director.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree from an accredited program in Counseling Counseling Psychology Clinical Psychology Social Work or related field. Licensed in Ohio to provide mental health treatment ( LPC or LPCC LSW or LISW or licensed psychologist). Demonstrated knowledge of the developmental and psychological issues of college students and ability to establish effective rapport with this population. Possess and demonstrate the ability to work with diverse constituencies and have excellent skills in oral and written communication. Possess values compatible with and supportive of the mission of John Carroll University. Interest in understanding and supporting John Carrolls mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning leadership and service in the region and in the world.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed in Ohio to provide clinical supervision ( LPCC -S LISW -S or licensed Psychologist). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse clients and interest in working with issues of identity and culture. Prior experience working in a college counseling center.
