Job Summary

DISTRIBUTION CENTER SUMMER INTERN - FOR CTA STUDENTS
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is offering two CTA students 6-week paid internships in our Distribution Center and Clothing Rooms this summer. These paid internships are available only for current CTA 9th 10th 11th or 12th grade high school students (including May graduates). Distribution Center and Clothing Room interns will assist with the intake processing and distribution of in-kind donations. Interns may also assist with certain aspects of daily operations of the Mens and/or Womens Clothing Rooms. There is physical labor involved in this role. Including lifting loading unloading and climbing ladders to stock shelves.

PAY RATE: $11.00/Hour

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • Seasonal/Temporary position June 15 - July 24 2026
  • Part-time 12 hours/week Monday Wednesday & Friday 4 hours per day ideally 2:00pm-6:00pm
LOCATION: Central Campus 830 N 19th Street Milwaukee WI. 53233

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collect sort and process donated goods at a responsible pace
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment
  • Accept sort transport inventory and recycle in-kind donations. (clothing household hygiene and seasonal supplies)
  • Greet and thank donors in a friendly appreciative and professional manner while graciously accepting their donations and providing a receipt
  • Courteously assist the donor in the removal of donated items from their vehicle
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current CTA 9th 10th 11th or 12th grade high school student (or graduated in May)
  • Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0
  • Good school behavior record
  • Able and willing to take and follow directions from Distribution Center staff member
  • Developing organizational prioritization and time-management skills
  • Developing collaboration and communication skills
  • Detail-orientated
  • Culturally competent and relational displaying suitable interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Accepting of supervisor direction correction and feedback
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player
  • Reliable in work attendance and being on time daily
  • Must be able to handle physical workload ability to stand for long periods of time walking stair & ladder climbing kneeling squatting crouching reaching handling and gripping without difficulty repetitive movement of both hands and arms as well as frequent lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 55lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart) and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly.
  • Continue developing a genuine concern for the salvation and spiritual welfare for all those encountered through the ministry of MRM seeking to model and share the hope of the gospel within the established responsibilities of this position.
  • A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil respectful polite and responsive
  • Regular attender of an evangelical church whose theology is in alignment with our Statement of Faith and Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
SEASONAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
