Job Summary
Job Description
Program Operation:
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- Submits requested information within established timelines.
Students:
- Is available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
- Deal with student concerns and if necessary consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
Instruction:
- Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
- Uses technology such as Canvas PowerPoint etc. as event of emergency absence notifies program/department chair.
- Promote same as an integral part of ones work.
Education Experience And Other Requirements
Early Childhood Education Program Standard:
A qualified faculty member in early childhood education meets the program standard through:
1. Possesses an earned masters or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in early childhood education child development;
or
2. Possesses an earned masters or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development with academic preparation appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught;
and
3. Possesses one of the following:
a) Professional certification in the field; or
b) Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8.
