Physical Security Engineer (Design) , Data Center Engineering

Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements (cameras access control intrusion detection fences gates etc.) for DC projects
Using Blue Beam and other drafting technologies to work in collaboration with the design teams to produce designs in Revit (ACC)/CAD.
Coordinating security requirements with all the other disciplines during the design process of a new building / campus (architectural mechanical electrical civil IT)
Review and direct the work of physical security engineering design consultants
Be the Subject Matter Expert of all designs supervise and approve all design deliverables developed by the 3rd party and in-house design services teams at each design milestones of a project.
Collaborate with other security organizations within AWS to develop design standards evaluate cost risk and benefits of designs and facilitate design discussions
Participate in maintenance Basis of Design prototype design and template specifications for physical security elements
Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
Travel for site assessments internal design meetings construction review and interfacing with design consultants. Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%.

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook Word and Excel
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers power generation or oil and gas facilities
- Experience researching new designs technologies and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Experience in commissioning

- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration development and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading interpreting and creating construction drawings specifications and submittal documents
