Job Summary

A prestigious Independent school in Harrow is seeking a scholarly and intellectually curious Religious Studies Teacher for a full-time permanent role starting in September 2026. This position is designed for a practitioner who thrives on high-level theological and philosophical debate with ambitious young scholars.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Religious Studies and Philosophy across KS3 to KS5 focusing on rigorous academic analysis and critical thinking.

  • Lead scholarly discussion groups and mentor students for university entrance in Philosophy Politics and Economics (PPE).

  • Foster a culture of mutual respect and open inquiry through inclusive and challenging lesson delivery.

  • Contribute to the schools broad enrichment programme linking theology to modern social justice and global affairs.

  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities team on interdisciplinary projects and symposia.

Requirements

  • Degree in Theology Philosophy or a related humanities field.

  • PGCE or QTS.

  • Proven track record of success at A-Level.

  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
