Job Summary

The Role
Teaching Sociology at KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A-Level).

Promoting high standards of academic debate and enquiry in every lesson.
Encouraging social awareness empathy and independence in theoretical and practical sessions.
Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment data effectively to raise attainment at all levels.
Participating in the statutory ECT induction sessions and professional development workshops.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A degree in Sociology or a related Social Science subject.
A firm grasp of contemporary social issues and the ability to spark debate in the classroom.
High expectations for pupil engagement classroom behaviour and academic progress.
Excellent communication skills and a reflective proactive approach to teaching.
A professional organised and positive mindset toward departmental teamwork.
