Job Summary

An artistically ambitious and high-achieving secondary school in Plymouth is seeking a dedicated and creative Drama ECT to join its successful Performing Arts department this September. The Role

  • Teaching Drama across KS3 and KS4 with the potential to support A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies.

  • Planning and delivering lessons that balance performance skills with technical theatre and theory.

  • Supporting pupils with their devised and scripted practical assessments and examination prep.

  • Promoting high standards of confidence vocal expression and physical theatre techniques.

  • Encouraging independent research into practitioners and various theatrical styles.

  • Coordinating and contributing to school productions festivals and showcase events.

  • Participating in the statutory ECT induction sessions and collaborative faculty planning.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A degree in Drama Theatre Studies or a related performing arts discipline.

  • A passion for theatrical performance and a commitment to extracurricular theatre.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and inspire creative expression.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a rehearsal-focused environment.

  • A reflective proactive and positive approach to starting a career in the arts.
