The Role

• Teaching Food Preparation and Nutrition across KS3 and KS4.

• Planning and delivering engaging practical lessons that focus on culinary skills hygiene and nutrition.

• Supporting pupils with their NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) and theoretical examination preparation.

• Promoting high standards of kitchen safety and food hygiene in accordance with school policy.

• Encouraging creativity and independence in practical sessions while fostering an understanding of food provenance.

• Managing equipment and ingredients effectively to ensure a productive learning environment.

• Participating in the statutory ECT induction and collaborative departmental planning.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• A degree in Food Technology Hospitality Nutrition or a related discipline.

• Strong practical skills and the confidence to manage a practical classroom safely.

• High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and the quality of practical outcomes.

• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of energy for the busy school day.

• A professional positive and proactive approach to departmental teamwork.
