About the Role
The Caretaker will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school site. This includes opening and closing the premises carrying out routine checks and ensuring that facilities remain safe and operational. The role is hands-on and varied offering the opportunity to take ownership of site standards and contribute to a positive school environment.

You will work closely with the Facilities or Site Manager and assist with responding to maintenance requests preparing rooms for events and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed consistently. The role requires good practical skills reliability and the ability to respond calmly to unexpected issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school premises in line with agreed schedules

• Carrying out routine maintenance checks and minor repairs where appropriate

• Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are clean safe and secure

• Supporting the setup of classrooms halls and spaces for assemblies or events

• Monitoring heating lighting and alarm systems

• Reporting any faults hazards or damage promptly

• Assisting with deliveries and movement of furniture or equipment

• Supporting health and safety compliance across the site
