The Role

You will be responsible for teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates. The successful candidate will deliver lessons that are clear engaging and structured to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.

The Maths department works closely together to share planning resources and teaching strategies ensuring consistency across year groups. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons that support both foundational numeracy and higher-level mathematical reasoning.

In addition to classroom teaching you will assess student progress regularly provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching methods to support individual development. You will also play an active role in maintaining high expectations for behaviour and engagement within the classroom.

What the Role Involves

Teaching will form the core of your responsibilities including delivering engaging lessons that support the national curriculum and preparing students for internal and external examinations. You will monitor student performance carefully identifying those who may need additional support or challenge.

You will also contribute to departmental planning attend regular meetings and support whole-school initiatives designed to improve outcomes in mathematics. There may be opportunities to assist with extracurricular activities such as maths clubs revision sessions or academic competitions.

Maintaining accurate records of student progress and supporting parents evenings and school reporting cycles will also be part of the role.

Candidate Requirements
