Job Summary
We are seeking a Contract Manager / Quantity Surveyorto support the commercial management of large-scale hyperscale Data Centre projects (50MW)across Europe and international markets.
Operating on the client/owner side this role is responsible for providing commercial oversight cost control and contractual management across the full project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Management Construction and Planning teams to ensure financial performance risk management and commercial governance are delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
1. Commercial & Cost Management
Provide end-to-end commercial management across data centre projects from pre-construction through to final account
Manage General Contractor and supply chain commercial performance including valuations variations and final accounts
Develop and maintain cost plans budgets and forecasts aligned with project delivery
Monitor project expenditure and ensure robust cost control and reporting processes are in place
Support development of procurement strategies and contract structures
2. Contract Management
Review administer and manage contracts across all project packages
Ensure contractual compliance by contractors and consultants
Manage change control processes including evaluation and negotiation of variations
Provide guidance on contractual obligations risk allocation and dispute avoidance
Support resolution of claims extensions of time and loss/expense events
3. Stakeholder & Client Coordination
Act as a key commercial interface between client contractors and consultants
Support the Project Manager in delivering strong commercial governance and reporting
Build and maintain effective working relationships across all stakeholders
Provide clear commercial insights to support decision-making
4. Risk & Financial Control
Identify and manage commercial risks ensuring mitigation strategies are implemented
Maintain cost-related risk registers and contingency tracking
Support cash flow management and financial forecasting
Provide commercial assurance on project performance and margin control
5. Reporting & Data Integration
Prepare accurate and timely cost reports valuations and financial summaries
Support integration of digital tools data analytics and reporting dashboards into commercial management
Ensure transparency and accuracy in all commercial reporting
Provide insights into cost performance risks and opportunities
6. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with Planning Construction and Project Controls teams to ensure alignment between cost programme and delivery
Promote a One Team approach across all project stakeholders
Support continuous improvement of commercial processes and best practices
Contribute to lessons learned and knowledge sharing across projects
Our Ideal Candidate
You are a commercially driven professional with strong experience in managing complex construction projects particularly within data centre or mission-critical environments.
You combine technical commercial expertise with a collaborative mindset and are comfortable working in a client-facing high-performance environment.
Experience Required
815 years experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
Proven experience on Data Centre / Mission Critical projects (essential)
Experience working in a client-side / owners representative rolepreferred
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
Experience managing large-scale project budgets and commercial risk
International project experience is advantageous
Key Skills
Strong commercial and contractual management capability

Ability to manage cost risk and performance across complex projects
Data-driven mindset with experience in digital reporting tools
