Your role:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to own the infrastructure that makes THEKERs intelligence stack run. Our robots operate in real client environments and generate continuous data streams. That data needs to flow reliably from the field to the systems where it gets processed stored and acted on. You will build and operate that pipeline.

You will join a small engineering team at an early stage. There is no legacy infrastructure to maintain while the real work happens elsewhere. You start with a clean slate and the architectural decisions you make now will shape how the system scales as deployments grow. The software and AI engineers who work alongside you depend on infrastructure that does not fail. That reliability is what you own.

Day to day you will manage servers and cloud infrastructure design integration layers between hardware systems and data backends and set up monitoring so the team can trust the systems are healthy. You will work closely with software and AI engineers who move fast and need solid infrastructure underneath them.

What were looking for

• Solid experience managing and deploying systems on local servers or cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)
• Strong understanding of systems architecture principles: scalability reliability and performance across infrastructure layers
• Experience designing integration layers between data-producing systems and storage backends
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases. Comfortable with schema design and query writing and clear on when to reach for each type
• Solid Python skills for scripting automation and systems integration
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments as a core part of day-to-day work
• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals: how protocols work how systems connect and how data moves across infrastructure layers
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana Prometheus or similar
• Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate

Nice to have

• Familiarity with IoT protocols and edge-to-cloud data flows
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi

Main Responsibilities:

• Own the design deployment and operation of THEKERs server and cloud infrastructure
• Build integration layers between data-producing systems (robots sensors edge devices) and storage backends
• Design and maintain database schemas across relational and non-relational systems
• Implement monitoring and observability across all infrastructure layers including logging alerting and system health dashboards
• Develop Python scripts and automation tools to reduce manual operations and improve system reliability
• Manage networking configuration and connectivity between systems across infrastructure layers
• Collaborate with software and AI engineers to understand infrastructure requirements and translate them into reliable scalable solutions
• Define and document infrastructure standards to support the engineering team as the system grows

3. Conversation with our technical team.
4. Meet the rest of the team and founders and work together on a live challenge at our offices.
