SUMMARY:
The intern will work amid a working rail and ocean transportation service and assist with day-to-day tasks including but not limited to preparing customs documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance customer support and shipment tracking. The candidate will also focus on special projects pertaining to data reporting and CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) compliance. Through these responsibilities the intern will develop competences in supply chain coordination problem-solving and professional communication that will be valuable in their future career.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The intern will gain a basic understanding of the railroad industry including industry structure and some competitive dynamics.
The intern will also gain an understanding of G&Ws processes procedures and systems.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in MS Word Excel and Outlook
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to interact effectively with all levels and continue to maintain a high level of objectivity and independence
Self-starter
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree
Must have a valid drivers license
