Senior Equinix Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in Equinix services-especially Network Edge-to design implement and support enterprise network solutions. This role is heavily focused on virtual/network-based infrastructure rather than physical hardware deployments.

The environment includes enterprise applications such as Mainframe MQ and MDM platforms; however prior mainframe experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Design deploy and support network solutions within Equinix with a strong focus on Network Edge services

Build and manage highly available scalable network architectures using Cisco platforms

Configure and optimize routing protocols including BGP OSPF and BFD

Implement and support advanced networking technologies such as QoS VPC GRE and IPsec tunneling

Manage and maintain Check Point firewalls including rule base design optimization and troubleshooting

Perform firewall rule assessments cleanup and migrations across environments

Support connectivity for enterprise application environments (e.g. MQ MDM and related systems)

Monitor troubleshoot and resolve network performance and connectivity issues

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure stable and compliant network operations

Document network designs configurations and operational procedures

Required Qualifications

10 years of hands-on network engineering experience

Strong expertise with Cisco platforms (Catalyst 9000 Nexus 9000 Catalyst 8500 series)

Deep knowledge of routing and switching technologies

Extensive experience with BGP OSPF BFD QoS VPC GRE and IPsec

Strong experience with Check Point firewalls and rule base management

Proven experience working within Equinix environments especially Network Edge

Experience with firewall rule migration and policy assessment

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

Familiarity with enterprise application environments (Mainframe MQ MDM)

Experience with cloud or hybrid networking architectures

Exposure to network automation tools or scripting
