Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (excluding state holidays)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator III (DBA) to support enterprise-level data infrastructure in a hybrid environment. This role requires deep expertise in IBM DB2 database administration along with strong working knowledge of AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms and scripting.

The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical depth operational reliability and the ability to support complex database environments in a structured compliance-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer maintain and support DB2 databases in enterprise environments
• Manage database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and reliability
• Handle DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage compliance and management
• Support database installations upgrades patches and migrations
• Monitor system health and proactively resolve performance or capacity issues
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support business-critical systems
• Troubleshoot database and system-level issues across AIX/UNIX/Linux environments
• Ensure adherence to security compliance and operational standards

Required Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with DB2 database administration
• 8 years of experience managing DB2 licensing / Passport Advantage
• 2 years of experience working within AIX UNIX or Linux environments
• 2 years of experience with shell scripting / automation

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience specifically supporting DB2 on AIX
• Experience in highly regulated or government environments
• Strong troubleshooting documentation and process adherence skills

Additional Details

• Contract engagement with potential for extension based on business needs
• Hybrid work model requiring onsite presence in Austin TX
• Candidates must be able to work within standard business hours
