CNC Machinist

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Performstypical machine shop operations
• Set up and operate machining center(s) per work instructions
• Analyze written specifications drawings and rough sketches and takes verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations
• Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Detectand reportdefective materials or questionable conditions to management or other designee
• Perform the following tasks including but not limited to: milling turning drilling tapping de-burring sawing and sanding
• Perform inspection of machined product (including documentation of results)
• Completeand maintainpaperwork for parts
• Assist in other work areas including but not limited to pre-form fabrication lay-up infiltration furnace operation and sand blasting
• Maintainthe work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Confers with engineers production personnel programmers or others to resolve issues
• Completeother duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Minimum four(4) years experience as CNC Operator or equivalent technical machining certification/degree
• Previous experience setting up and operating a CNC machine in a productionenvironment
• Experience with precision measurement methods and systems
• Experience with computers (data entry email)

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to add subtract multiply and divide (i.e. proven elementary math skills)
• Ability to read write and speak the English language (i.e. proven elementary reading and writing skills)
• Demonstrated ability to converse and comprehend using the English language
• Demonstrated ability to use a standard computer keyboard
• Demonstrated ability to use handheld measuring tools including but not limited to calipers micrometer tape measures etc.
• Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend engineering blueprints and/or customer product drawings

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing. Exposure to dust.

Physical Requirements

• Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to sit stand bend squat and walk about the facility.
• Ability to work productively in an environment with a wide range of temperatures.
• Able to walk/stand a minimum of twelve(12) hours per day.
