Senior Sportsbook Trader

On behalf of our client who is a growing iGaming company that is operating in the emerging markets we are looking for a Senior Sportsbook Trader who is going to be responsible for compiling and maintaining pre-match and in-play odds across assigned sports managing market exposure and ensuring sportsbook remains competitive and correctly priced. This is a mid-senior level role within a small close-knit trading team with direct ownership of selected sports and active involvement in both pre-match preparation and live risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Odds Compilation & Pricing

• Compile and update pre-match odds for assigned sports using internal systems and third-party market
  data
• Review and adjust feed-based odds where automated pricing is insufficient niche markets
  low-liquidity fixtures or events not covered by data providers
• Conduct regular competitor pricing checks to ensure accuracy and market competitiveness
  In-Play Trading
• Monitor live events in real time; update in-play odds suspend and reopen markets and respond
  promptly to key match incidents
• Manage margin during promotional events such as enhanced odds and price boosts
• Ensure markets perform correctly during high-volume periods

Risk & Liability Management

• Track bet flow and liability exposure across pre-match and live markets
• Set and adjust customer betting limits based on profiling and observed betting behaviour
• Identify sharp or value bettors and apply appropriate flags or restrictions
• Monitor accumulator and early cashout exposure
• Escalate unusual activity limit breaches or significant liability positions to senior traders or the risk team
  

Market Operations & Settlement

• Ensure markets are correctly displayed on the website; flag and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Manage market settlement verify results resolve disputed settlements and process voids accurately
  and on time
• Create and configure market templates in the trading platform for new competitions or sports

Analysis & Reporting

• Produce daily and weekly P&L; summaries by sport and market type
• Analyse margin leakage identify where the book is losing edge and recommend corrective action
• Review post-event betting patterns to inform and improve future pricing decisions
• Maintain accurate records using Excel or Google Sheets
  

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work with the risk operations and product teams on trading limits promotional pricing and sportsbook
  improvements
• Brief the CRM and marketing teams on key upcoming events suitable for promotions
• Provide input on which sports and leagues to add or remove based on volume and profitability data

• Support the product team with testing of new sportsbook features before release

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrable knowledge of common sports betting markets: 1X2 Asian handicap totals over/under
  and player/team specials
• Strong numeracy; able to convert odds to implied probabilities and assess margin quickly and accurately
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets exposure tracking VLOOKUP basic modelling
• Ability to work under time pressure and make clear accurate decisions during live events
• High attention to detail with a structured methodical approach
• Good written and spoken English
  

Bonus Skills

• Previous experience in a sportsbook trading or odds compiling role
• Experience with live sports data feed platforms (e.g. Betradar BetConstruct Sportradar)
• Strong knowledge of football; familiarity with other major sports an advantage
• French language skills are a strong advantage focus on emerging markets
