Oulton College is seeking a qualified and passionate Nursing Instructor to deliver a Medical-Surgical Nursing course within our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program. This course prepares students for the role of the registered nurse in complex medical-surgical environments emphasizing safe ethical and evidence-based care.
The successful candidate will support students in developing clinical reasoning critical thinking and practical skills through theoretical instruction.
The course start date is May 4 2026 offered in a 15-week semester (3 hours per week of teaching)
Key Responsibilities
Deliver course content through lectures and hands-on lab sessions
Facilitate student learning in areas including:
Facilitate student learning in areas such as pain management wound care perioperative care and complex health conditions
Integrate nursing theory with health science concepts to support clinical decision-making
Guide students in applying the nursing process to diverse patient populations
Promote the use of evidence-informed practice and clinical reasoning
Grade assignments exams and learning activities
Provide timely constructive feedback to students
Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Collaborate with faculty and program teams as required
Requirements
Recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing
Experience teaching at the post-secondary level with demonstrated ability to engage and support degree-level learners is considered a strong asset
Strong understanding of learning outcomes assessment design and academic standards aligned with undergraduate education
Excellent communication organizational and instructional skills
