Parts Manager

A Parts Manager runs an efficient and profitable service department through effective staffing customer retention cost controls achievement objectives and maintenance of all service records. Ensures that the daily inventory of technicians time is consistently sold to service customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
• Hires trains motivates counsels and monitors performance of all parts staff
• Works with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the Parts Department
• Attends managers meetings
• Directs and schedules the activities of all Parts Department employees
• Conducts meetings with Parts Department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation
• Monitors Parts Department employees payroll records
• Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments
• Understands keeps abreast of and complies with federal state and local regulations that affect the parts department
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
• Establish and enforce a pricing policy that balances volume customer loyalty and the cost of doing business
• Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence
• Handles customer complaints immediately and according to Spitzers guidelines
• Maintains a safe work environment
• Maintains a professional appearance
• Performs other related duties as assigned
