Job Summary
Job Overview:
The Executive Director Finance CPS is a senior finance leader at Fortrea responsible for leading financial strategy insight generation and governance for the CPS business unit. This role serves as the primary finance partner to CPS operational leadership owning business unit level financial planning forecasting and performance insight while ensuring alignment with enterprise financial standards and priorities.
This role is intentionally focused onstrategic business partnership and decision support. The Executive Director brings strong executive presence andbusinessjudgment translating complex financial and operational data into clear actionable insights that influence investment decisions operational discipline andlong-termvalue creation across the CPS portfolio.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Business Unit Financial Leadership and Governance
Own financial leadership for the CPS business unit ensuring rigor consistency and transparency across budgeting forecasting and performance management.
Serve as the single point of accountability for CPS financial results in close partnership with CPS Operations leadership.
Ensure CPS financial plans and forecasts align with enterprise objectives governance standards and reporting expectations.
Strategic Planning Budgeting and Forecasting
Lead CPS budgeting and forecasting processes integrating volume cost capital and margin drivers into forward looking plans.
Drive high quality financial insight generation to support CPS clinical operations including Phase 1clinicperformanceandclinical research units (CRUs)operating as investigator sites.
Identify risks opportunities and performance inflection points proactively elevating insights to CPS and enterprise leadership.
Embedded Business Partnership and Decision Support
Operate as an embedded finance partner to CPS leadership providing financial perspective and challenge on operational and strategic decisions.
Translate business complexity into executive-ready financial insights that support growth margin and capital allocation decisions.
Support segment level FP&A analysis and P&L ownership in partnership with operational leaders.
Capital and Cost Discipline
Lead capital planning investment prioritizationcapacity expansionand cost discipline initiatives within CPS.
Ensure financial accountability for capital deployment and operating expense management while enabling growth and operational excellence.
Executive Influence and Collaboration
Partner closely with peer Executive Directors across Business and Corporate Finance to ensure enterprise alignment.
Influence enterprise finance standards and priorities through strong collaboration with the SVP of Business Finance andother Financeleadership.
Leadership and Talent Development
Developand lead a high performing CPS finance team with strong analytical capability executive communication and commercial acumen.
Mentor senior finance leaders and high potential talent reinforcing enterprise mindset and strategic partnership behaviors.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field required. MBA CPA or equivalent preferred.
12years of progressive finance leadership experience including direct responsibility for business unit finance or divisional FP&A.
Experience(Minimum Required):
Demonstrated experience partnering with senior operational leaders and influencing strategic decisions.
Strong background in budgeting forecasting P&L ownership and performance management within complex operating environments.
Proven ability to translate detailed financial data into executive level insights storytelling with dataandproviding actionablerecommendations.
Exceptional executive presence judgment and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within CRO life sciences healthcare services or similarly complex project based global organizations.
Working knowledge of project based financial models and revenue recognition dynamics.
Experience operating in a public company environment with enterprise governance expectations.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
- This role requires candidates to reside within a commutable distance of our Durham NC headquarters and to be able to visit the location on an asneeded basis.
Physical Requirements:
Frequentlystationaryfor 6-8 hours per day.
Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast simple repeated movements of the fingers hands and wrists.
Light to moderate lifting and carrying or moving ofobjectsincluding luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
