Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to serve as a Construction Safety Supervisor. The role combines engineering expertise with safety management to ensure that construction projects comply with all safety regulations standards and best practices. The candidate will oversee site safety conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to protect workers equipment and the public.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Planning & Compliance
o Develop implement and monitor site-specific safety plans in line with local regulations and international standards.
o Ensure compliance with OSHA ISO and other relevant safety codes.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
o Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments on construction sites.
o Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Training & Awareness
o Organize safety induction programs for new employees and subcontractors.
o Conduct toolbox talks safety drills and ongoing training sessions.
Incident Management
o Investigate accidents near misses and unsafe conditions.
o Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
Coordination & Communication
o Collaborate with project managers site engineers and contractors to integrate safety into daily operations.
o Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues.
Documentation & Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of safety inspections audits and compliance reports.
o Submit weekly and monthly safety performance reports to management.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH OSHA IOSH) is an added advantage.
Minimum 35 years of experience in construction safety supervision.
Strong knowledge of construction processes materials and equipment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to enforce safety standards while maintaining positive team relations.
Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software.
Desired Attributes
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Proactive in identifying risks and implementing solutions.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
