Sherpa is hiring two on-site installers for a short-term contract at a major trade show in Orlando Florida. Youll join a team of 5 to deploy our indoor positioning system before the show opens and dismantle it after it closes with free days in Orlando in between.
The work concretely
The job consists of mounting small transmitters (approximately 0.5 1 3) at precise locations marked on a floor plan at a height of 2 metres (6.5 feet) using 3M hanging strips or zip ties. Youll then help calibrate the system. Training is provided on-site no prior experience required.
One caveat: everything must be installed and calibrated before the show opens which means working on a crowded convention floor alongside booth installers. Expect noise tight deadlines and a lot of shared space with other crews working under their own pressures.
What to expect
Departure from Montreal Airport on May 13 or 14 2026 bound for Orlando Florida
Return from Orlando to Montreal on either May 20 or 21
Installation and calibration of our indoor positioning system before the show; dismantling and packing after
Free days during the show itself with lodging and per diem provided (you must remain reachable by phone)
Variable hours: shifts may run from 6:00 AM to as late as 4:00 AM capped at 10 consecutive hours
Endurance not strength or technical expertise
This job is about stamina. Youll work up to 10 hours at a stretch and log over 20000 steps a day. It requires meticulousness and thoroughness but no technical background. All training and guidance will be provided on-site.
What we cover
Everything on the work side: flights hotel travel insurance work-related ground transport hourly pay (with day/night differential) travel day compensation and a daily per diem.
Flexible return date
Want to extend your stay in Orlando after the contract ends Were happy to book a later return flight; any additional costs are at your own expense.
Requirements
Fluent English is mandatory
French is an asset but not required
Valid passport and eligibility to enter the United States without a visa
Able to sustain long days of light but repetitive physical work standing and walking all day
Reliable punctual and able to follow a structured methodology
Professional appearance and courteous manner on-site
U.S. Entry
Entering the United States is a condition of this contract. Candidates are responsible for confirming their own admissibility at the U.S. border. Sherpa cannot be held responsible for a denial of entry and a candidate who is unable to cross the border cannot be retained for this assignment.
