Marine Electrical Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Power & Controls Technician to support the installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of electrical power distribution and control systems on marine vessels. This role involves hands-on work with advanced marine electrical systems and contributing to safe and reliable vessel operations.

- Install troubleshoot and repair marine electrical power systems including switchboards generators transformers and power converters (AC/DC DC/DC DC/AC)
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety compliance
- Diagnose electrical faults using test equipment (multimeters oscilloscopes megohmmeters DLROs etc.).
- Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Support system upgrades modifications and commissioning activities
- Work on vessels (including at sea) in challenging environments such as heights and confined spaces
- Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation
- Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews when required
- 5 years of experience in marine or heavy industrial electrical systems
- Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems power distribution and circuit design
- Experience with generators switchboards PLCs drives and power electronics
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical faults in field environments
- Familiarity with marine or industrial standards (e.g. TC ABS DNV SOLAS) is an asset)
- Comfortable with travel offshore work and physically demanding environments. This is a 90% field 10% office
- Proficient in MS Office and able to read technical schematics
