A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director International Programs (Commerce) of the Centre for International Management (CIM) the International Programs & Projects Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping the global academic experience at Smith. This position is critical to planning coordination and successful delivery of Smiths international initiatives including undergraduate Commerce Double Degrees and International Letters of Permission. A key component of this role includes overseeing the assessment of academic transfer credits for undergraduate and graduate students participating in exchanges and double degree programs. The International Programs & Projects Advisor ensures that students can seamlessly pursue global learning opportunities while maintaining academic excellence and program integrity. This work is achieved through strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines in a complex fast paced environment.
Beyond program coordination this role builds and sustains strong professional relationships among students faculty international partners and administrative teams to continually strengthen Smiths international presence and foster a supportive globally engaged academic community.
This role requires a high degree of analytical thinking sound judgement and the ability to interpret academic policies and apply them consistently as well as a strong commitment to accuracy and process rigor.
This position manages projects and acts as the project lead by developing work plans investigating issues seeking feedback managing risks anticipating challenges and making recommendations. This position provides strategic support coordination research modelling and analysis to contribute to the completion of project deliverables. This position works closely with senior leadership team on communications to raise awareness for the project.

What you will do
- Acts as the project lead for small-scale projects by developing work plans investigating issues seeking feedback managing risks anticipating challenges and making recommendations.
- Takes the lead in developing strategies to collect organize model and analyze information from a variety of different sources. Conducts data analysis and performs research to support the collection synthesis and interpretation of complex material and data to facilitate decision making.
- Analyses information requests and defines data requirements.
- Leads and conducts information gathering exercises.
- Develops communications plans to raise awareness of the projects.
- Oversees the project budget and identifies costs and processes expenses.
- Schedules and assigns work and provides direction on its completion. Coordinates and monitors workflow.
- Prepare project schedules.
- Establishes maintains and manages databases.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
- in business administration preferred.
Required Experience- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
