The College of Education Teacher Education Programs (TEP) consists of five pathways to teacher certification: Elementary Teacher Education Seattle Teacher Residency Secondary Teacher Education Special Education Teacher Education and the University Accelerated Certification for Teachers. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of TEP the Program Managerwill lead and manage the day-to-day operations of TEP andis acollaborative leadership role that serves as akey member of the TEP team.
This position works inkey partnershipwith the Assistant Dean TEP Pathway Directors the Office of Student and Academic Services (OSAS) and other college faculty staff and students. This position requiresa high levelof organizational ability and strong customer service skills and will facilitatecommunication and coordination across all TEP teams and programs. The person in this position must work independently and be highly skilled at interfacing with staff faculty and students. The abilitytoproblem-solveinitiate and implement process-improvements and to thrive in an environment with many moving parts are strong attributes for this position.
The Program Manager must create a welcoming office environment that is open to all. This position requires an individual who is especially adept at listening and developing relationships with students staff and faculty while centering students in all aspects of the inner workings of TEP.
This role is primarily in person at the Seattle campus with some flexibility for remote work depending on operational needs. Availability outside of regular business hours may be necessary to attend scheduled events and meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Programs Manager hasleadingresponsibility for day-to-day TEP operations and related functions including but not limited tothe following:
Oversee and continuously improve daily operations of the Teacher Education Programs. Theposition will also design strengthen and implement customer service protocols and information dissemination for program faculty and students ensuring adequate resources are available and excellent customer service and operational continuity are providedacross all TEP programs.
Developand implement internal policies and procedures (in compliance with University and College rules and regulations and other college units (OSAS)) and provide administrative oversight at a level necessary to ensure the successful day-to-day operation of TEP. Create and implement a communication protocol to share via multiple modalities.
Lead project management support to the Assistant Dean and Pathway Directors work with external partnerships and the state certification and accreditationprocesses. Design and implement systems to support data management and compliance; organize and maintain complex information and materials; oversee meeting scheduling and logistics with internal and external partners; collaborate with relevant OSAS and IR staff to ensure accurate and timely annual reporting to the State standards board; and oversee the archiving of materials for ease ofretrievement.
In collaboration with the Assistant Dean Pathway Directors and relevant OSAS staff provideleadership and advanced operations support across the student lifecycle including the annual admissions process; student scholarship disbursement process; course registration of student cohorts to ensure alignment with program curriculum and the requirements of the Graduate School; and monitoring of student progress toward degree and certification completion while ensuring alignment with state requirements.
In collaboration with the TEP Recruitment and Retention Specialist and relevant OSAS staffensure that the needs of students are considered in recruitment practices marketing admissions proceduresadvisingprocesses etc.
Serve as primary operational lead for all TEP faculty and instructors providing direction and support for all aspects of curriculum management including the investigation and resolution of questions concerns or conflicts; management of instructor support materials; and ensuring access to university systems. Collaborate with faculty and instructors in developing a system of communication toidentify track and support students of concern. Elevate issues and recommend the best course of action tothe AssistantDeanas necessary.
In collaboration with the Associate Director of Academic Planning and Curriculum Management ensureaccuratecourse scheduling andanticipateplanning needs including communicating with faculty to verify course details meeting times etc. and ensure the accuracy of course listings in the Time Schedule.
In collaboration with the Assistant Deanoverseeand manage all TEP hiringprocesseseach quarterto includegraduate student instructors adjunct faculty teaching assistants and reader/graders. Post open positions coordinate interviews communicate hiring decisions to applicants andfacilitatehiring requests with college HR and Payroll staff.
Develop and deliver a strategic series of regularly scheduled communications to faculty and instructorsregardinguniversity processes for instruction including textbooks teaching materials course evaluations and posting grades to ensure consistenttimelyandaccurateinstructional support. Collaborate with instructional support staff responsible for general administrative tasks as needed.
Lead communications and scheduling for TEP program meetings and events including facilitating meetings on behalf of the Assistant Dean as requested.
Oversee event coordination and ensure there is adequate administrative support for program-specific events. Collaborate with the OSAS and AST teams to support large events such as new student orientation and graduation.
Support the Assistant Dean in the management of TEP budgets and expenditures.
Lead special projectsbyindependently evaluating options and recommending best-course-of-action to leadership whileensuringalignment with TEP goals.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Education Communications BusinessAdministrationor a related field to include 2 years of progressively responsible experience in program or administrative management and operations support for a complex organization
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
Additional Requirements
Project management experience anddemonstratedexpertisewith handling high volumes of complex information for multiple stakeholders event planning and organization and managing meetinglogistics
Demonstrated competence in operations and process improvement approaches and methodologies
Demonstrated ability to use relational databases web-based technologies and an ability to integrate these technologies into educational and student-support environments
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment be responsive to tight deadlines prioritize responsibilities and projects in a quickly changing context and high-volume customer service environment
Experience partnering across multiple teams
Ability to work independently and consistently apply sound professional judgment anddemonstratecritical thinking to address complex issues and solve problems within delegated authority.
Demonstrated professionalism in handlinghighly confidentialand sensitiveinformation.
Current experience andproficiencyusing Microsoft Office suite programs (Word Excel Access Outlooketc.); and Google Workspace
Experience evaluating and creating new and existing policies and procedures including successful roll-out and adoption by stakeholders
Effective and strong organizing planning verbal and written communicationpresentationand interpersonal skills.
Experience withconflict resolution managing difficult conversations and effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders with tact diplomacydiscretionand sensitivity to support and respond to students faculty prospective students and thegeneral public.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a university or academic department with increasing levels of responsibility providing academic program support
Understanding of issues and structures of K-12 schools and education in general; roles of teachers teacher leaders supportpersonneland administrators; rationale behind program requirements; and strong interest in education
Familiarity with UW Resources such as SLATE or other CRM
