Function Specialist Application (FA)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Function Specialist Application (FA) to join our dynamic automotive engineering this critical role you will be the go-to expert1 for specific software functions acting as a vital link between development project management and the customer. You will ensure the seamless application calibration and performance of our advanced functions in real-world environments directly contributing to the success of our mobility solutions.
Location Turin 20% business trips Italy and Europe
Your Contribution to Something Big:
- First Intervention & Troubleshooting: Serve as the first point of contact for issues in field test vehicles test benches and customer fleets. Provide immediate expert-level support to diagnose and resolve technical challenges minimizing project disruption.
- Calibration & Function Responsibility: Take ownership of the calibration and subset management for key software functions applying expert Bosch know-how in areas such as PCL ZFC FBC ASMod and RailCtl.
- Function Subset Delivery & Quality: Manage and deliver the function subset to the Project Responsible (PR) in alignment with the projects calibration timeline. Conduct rigorous checks to ensure compatibility and performance with new software versions.
- Project & Customer Interface: Act as the primary technical interface between the Project Application and customers. Address all questions and open points related to your function ensuring clear communication and effective resolutions.
- Work Package Management: Systematically manage and execute calibration work packages ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently on time and to the highest quality standards.
- Compliance & Diagnostics: Execute diagnostic and CAN norms with a specific focus on FCA-related projects ensuring full compliance with industry and customer standards.
- Customization & Development Liaison: Bridge the gap between customer requirements and our internal software development teams. Facilitate customer-specific modifications by translating needs into technical specifications.
- Field Test & Calibration Support: Actively support the monitoring of field tests and prepare the subset for neutral calibration (totappliziert) ensuring robust and reliable function performance.
Qualifications :
What Distinguishes You:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Mechatronics) Computer Science or a related technical field. A Masters degree is a strong plus.
- Experience: Proven experience in software function calibration application engineering or a similar role within the automotive or a comparable high-tech industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a talent for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and CAN communication protocols (CAN norms) with experience in FCA projects being highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of engine or powertrain control software functions is preferred.
- Personal Attributes:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to act as a technical liaison with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- A proactive self-starting mindset with a passion for technology and problem-solving.
- Wish to work on engine test bench and vehicle facilities
- Desirable: Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
