Job Summary

Title:Seasonal Carpenter

Position Purpose:

Executing all varieties of carpentry-related construction maintenance renovation and repair projects on campus using high quality carpentry skills.

Job Duties:

Coordinate all carpenter work with other building trades.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Communicate well with all customers and understand their needs.
Put together sketches of objects to be built in the carpenter shop and installed throughout the campus buildings.
Operate all carpenter related equipment.
Perform all carpentry related functions.
Complete work orders and PM (Preventive Maintenance) activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Trade school diploma or other carpentry credentials desired.
Valid Maine drivers license.

Experience

5 years of residential and/or commercial building experience.
Ability to work with wood metal or materials necessary for fabrication repair and renovation of all buildings.
Knowledge of tools building supplies and hardware associated with building trade.
Computer experience and ability to understand CAD drafting uses and blueprints.
Knowledge of roofing concrete work window and door installation also desired.

Skills and Knowledge

Ability and willingness to work weekends evenings on-call and other non-traditional schedules.
