Job Summary

THIS POSTING IS FOR 14 POSITIONS

On June 16 2022 Governor Kathy Hochul signed the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust Act which authorized the creation of the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust (the Trust). The Trust is a public benefit corporation that will oversee the renovation and rehabilitation of the Citys public housing developments owned by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). NYCHA will remain the permanent owner of the land/buildings and will enter a long-term ground lease with the Trust to secure Section 8 vouchers.

The selected Caretaker will be a NYCHA employee assigned to Nostrand Houses and will perform caretaking services on behalf of the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Sweep and mop public places
2. Police grounds
3. Wash windows
4. Service compactors
5. Collect garbage and recyclables
6. Remove bulk debris
7. Remove snow and ice conditions
8. Clean ramps and drains
9. Clean roofs roof drains and canopies
10. Replace defective lights
11. Polish wax
12. Make daily safety checks of elevator hatch doors and vision glass
13. Perform other related duties as directed

1. NYCHA employees applying for transfer promotional title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year at current location and in current title and level (if applicable).
