Job Summary
The Chief Private Banking Officer (CPBO) is responsible for leading the banks private banking and wealth management business focusing on high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
This role drives growth in assets under management (AUM) client acquisition and revenue through tailored wealth solutions investment advisory and superior client service while ensuring strong regulatory compliance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Private Banking Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute private banking and wealth management strategy
Drive growth in AUM revenue and client base (HNW/UHNW segments)
Identify new market opportunities and client segments
Position the bank as a trusted wealth advisor
2. Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain relationships with HNW and UHNW clients
Lead relationship managers and private bankers
Deliver personalized wealth solutions based on client needs
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
3. Investment Advisory & Wealth Solutions
Oversee investment advisory services and portfolio management
Provide guidance on asset allocation portfolio diversification and risk management
Offer products including equities fixed income mutual funds structured products and alternative investments
Ensure suitability and alignment with client risk profiles
4. Product & Platform Development
Develop and enhance private banking products and services
Expand investment platforms and advisory capabilities
Collaborate with asset management treasury and investment teams
Introduce innovative wealth solutions
5. Revenue & Business Performance
Drive revenue through advisory fees investment products and lending solutions
Monitor profitability and cost efficiency
Achieve sales and performance targets
Enhance cross-selling and product penetration
6. Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and wealth management standards
Manage client suitability KYC/AML requirements
Oversee investment risks and fiduciary responsibilities
Maintain strong governance and ethical practices
7. Digital Wealth & Innovation
Lead digital transformation in private banking services
Promote digital wealth platforms and tools
Enhance client experience through technology
Leverage data analytics for personalized offerings
8. Stakeholder & Market Engagement
Represent the bank in high-profile client and industry engagements
Build networks with key clients family offices and intermediaries
Provide market insights and investment perspectives to leadership
Strengthen brand positioning in private banking
9. Leadership & Talent Management
Lead and develop private banking and wealth management teams
Build high-performance culture
Attract and retain top relationship managers and advisors
Provide coaching and succession planning
Key Requirements
Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Economics Business Administration or related field
MBA CFA or equivalent professional qualifications highly preferred
Experience
15 years of experience in private banking wealth management or investment advisory
Proven leadership in senior roles (e.g. Head of Private Banking Wealth Management Head)
Strong track record in managing HNW/UHNW client portfolios
