Job Summary
Production Supervisor -DOE
Schedule: 2:30 PM 1:30 AM 56 days per week Overtime: After 40 hours Reports To: Assistant Plant Manager
Position Overview
A growing sheet metal operation is seeking a Second Shift Working Production Supervisor to lead and manage production activities. This role ensures safety and quality compliance oversees team performance and drives efficiency in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Compliance
- Ensure all shop floor employees follow Environmental Safety and Health policies.
- Enforce Quality Management System standards.
Production Oversight
- Supervise and coordinate the work of Mill Operators Decoil/RollUp Operators Saw Operators Packaging Leads and Packaging Operators.
- Step in and perform production roles when needed.
- Manage manpower allocation and redirect resources to meet production priorities.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete and submit accurate daily production reports.
- Track employee attendance and break times.
- Conduct and document daily forklift and crane inspections; submit reports to Maintenance.
- Report damaged tools or equipment and request repairs or replacements.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Work with the Assistant Plant Manager and Production Scheduler to set daily schedules and priorities.
- Verify order completion according to schedule and specifications (thickness width length squareness weight).
- Report and resolve shortages including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
- Steeltoe boots required.
- Clean shave required for respirator fit.
- Clean background.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to step into production roles when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
