Job Summary

About the Role

A reputable demolition contractor operating throughout the region is seeking a skilled and analytical Project Estimator to join their growing team. This position plays a critical role in the companys preconstruction process responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of demolition and environmental abatement projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for demolition selective demolition and hazardous material abatement scopes
  • Review and analyze project plans specifications and contract documents to identify full scope of work
  • Solicit review and level subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and complete pricing
  • Conduct site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs to assess existing conditions and identify potential project risks
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams to develop realistic budgets and schedules
  • Maintain and update internal cost databases unit pricing and historical project data
  • Track bid activity deadlines and award outcomes to support business development efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors suppliers and general contractors
  • Prepare and present detailed bid packages and proposals to clients and stakeholders
  • Support project handoffs by clearly communicating scope assumptions and cost breakdowns to the field team

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 35 years of estimating experience in demolition abatement construction or a closely related field
  • Strong understanding of demolition methods site logistics and construction sequencing
  • Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings specifications and geotechnical reports
  • Excellent analytical mathematical and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with hazardous material abatement scopes including asbestos lead and mold remediation
  • Experience with Sage 300 Bluebeam or similar construction software platforms
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
