A nationally recognized multi-office law firm is seeking an experienced Partner-Level Employment Attorney to join its growing Employment Practice Group. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a firm that combines national reach with a collaborative close-knit team culture.
The firms Employment Practice Group serves a broad client base including Fortune 500 companies insurance carriers municipalities healthcare providers and mid-sized businesses. The successful candidate will serve as a senior litigator and team leader managing complex employment matters from investigation through resolution while mentoring the next generation of attorneys.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as first-chair trial counsel in complex employment matters
- Lead strategy case management and litigation from investigation through resolution
- Work extensively with expert witnesses in preparing cases for trial
- Handle depositions motion practice hearings mediations and settlement negotiations
- Supervise and mentor associate attorneys paralegals and legal assistants
- Collaborate across practice groups on multi-disciplinary matters
- Travel as needed for client meetings depositions and trials
- Provide proactive strategic legal counsel to clients at every stage
Key Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in a Midwestern state and corresponding federal courts
- 10 years of litigation experience including 68 years in employment law (plaintiff or defense)
- Demonstrated experience working with expert witnesses in litigation
- Strong legal writing organization and case management skills
- Exceptional communication skills with clients colleagues and stakeholders
- Ability to manage high-volume work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines
- Track record of meeting or exceeding billable hours and revenue expectations
- Portable book of business is a plus but not required
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Commensurate with experience
Bonus: Discretionary opportunity
Billable Target: 1650 hours/year
Time Off: Generous PTO
