Join our SERAPH project in duckweed cultivation in Bali. We are looking for a Biology Project Team Leader to help drive this project forward manage experiments and coordinate the biological workstream with clarity and structure. This role is essential to our long-term R&D strategy as you will not only optimize duckweed growth conditions and yield but also help guide the team organize workflows and turn experimental insights into scalable production strategies.

This is a strong fit for someone who wants hands-on scientific work while also stepping into a leadership role. You will work with an international team on projects with global relevance and gain exposure to real-world research operations and innovation. This is an unpaid internship with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the biology side of the duckweed cultivation project.
• Optimize growth conditions biomass yield and experimental performance.
• Design manage and validate biological experiments.
• Organize and oversee day-to-day experimental workflows and team priorities.
• Translate biological findings into scalable production strategies.
• Experiment with different cultivation conditions and assess results critically.
• Test and validate biological production processes.
• Work closely with production engineering and operations teams to scale findings.
• Ensure accurate documentation data tracking and communication across teams.
• Support the development of a structured experimental roadmap for the project.

Role-Relevant Skills

• You are currently pursuing or have recently completed your Bachelors/Masters degree in Biology or a related field.
• You have a strong interest in sustainable farming practices especially aquatic plants as well as entrepreneurship AI and innovation.
• You are motivated by building scalable biological systems not just running isolated experiments.
• Leadership Interest: You are comfortable taking ownership coordinating people and helping a project move forward.
• Interest in AI & Optimization: You are curious about how AI can improve agricultural and biological systems.
• Basic Technical Competency: You are comfortable working with digital tools simulations spreadsheets and related software for analysis and modeling.
• Cross-Functional Communication: You can facilitate a smooth exchange of data priorities and insights across teams.
• Lab Collaboration: You work well in collaborative research environments and know how to align people around shared goals.
• Prior Research/Lab Experience (a huge plus): Practical experience in experiment design cultivation systems or biological analysis is highly valuable.
• Project Ownership (a huge plus): Experience leading a student team research workstream or independent project is a major advantage.
